The Team met with Mr. Siva Ruben, the GS, at the beneficiary’s (BN004) home for a site inspection. During the visit, the progress of the work was assessed, and photographs were taken for documentation purposes. It was observed that the mason had started plastering the walls that day, but there were concerns about the quantity of cement used up to that point. This issue was addressed with the mason, who was instructed to be more mindful of the cement usage moving forward. The pit plates were still not fully dry due to the cloudy weather.
In addition, the Team
had collected before attending site several materials from the VRV (supplier)
and delivered them to the site, including 1/4 kg of 2" nails, 8 bolts and
nuts with washers for fixing the roof sheet, 2 door hinges, and a door lock.
The carpenter also visited the site to finalize the door measurements and pricing. While
the original quotation for the door was 6,500 LKR, negotiations were still
ongoing to secure a better price. An advance of 4,000 LKR was paid to the
carpenter, with a request for the door to be ready by Monday, January 6, 2025.
The delivery of the toilet basin to the site is still pending.
