 Title: Upholding Integrity in the Building Approval Process

At 11:55 AM, BN008 visited our office, still uncertain about how to proceed after our earlier phone conversation that morning. They explained that they had spoken to someone at the Pradeshiya Sabha, who suggested that, with some influence, they could get the building approval passed. However, we made it clear that this was not the right approach.

We firmly stated that if they chose to follow that path, we would not be able to continue supporting them as a beneficiary of the WC4ALL program. It was essential for all the proper procedures to be followed to ensure the project’s integrity. Our goal is to help beneficiaries through legitimate channels, maintaining transparency and compliance with all regulations.

To provide further clarity, we immediately contacted the Public Health Inspector (PHI) while BN008 was still in our office. We also included him in the conversation, requesting that he meet with the beneficiary to explain the importance of adhering to the correct procedures. The PHI offered his assistance in navigating the process with the Pradeshiya Sabha and emphasized the need to follow the official steps to secure the building approval.

This interaction reinforced the importance of doing things the right way. By ensuring that all legal and regulatory steps are followed, we not only protect the beneficiary but also uphold the values of the WC4ALL program, fostering trust and accountability throughout the process.
